Applying the knowledge taught in a CPR training course can be the difference between life and death or serious brain damage for first aid casualties.
An SG Training CPR Course will provide you with the skills to provide a casualty with basic life support, CPR, emergency care, oxygen resuscitation and defibrillation when they have stopped breathing and have no heartbeat present. Attending resuscitation training really could help you to save someone’s life.
CPR instruction can be incorporated into our first aid training courses which use a range of first aid training videos, practical scenarios and hands-on assessments to give participants a realistic and practical experience for their qualifications.

HLTAID009 – Royal Life Saving NSW (RTO90666)
Our CPR qualification follows the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines, which are the standard or mandatory pre-requisite for employment in many industries. We have provided CPR classes and CPR recertification for a range of employment areas including teachers, personal trainers and pool lifeguards, as well as taught our CPR course to school students, businesses and parent groups such as playgroups.

Course Information
Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – HLTAID009
CPR Certification
Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a Royal Life Saving Resuscitation Certificate and a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
The Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate is valid for 12 months in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Guidelines.
Delivery Modes and Duration
CPR Training is available as a blended learning program with a combination of online learning and face-to-face training/ practical assessment sessions delivered by an accredited Royal Life Saving Trainer.
The practical assessment session is 1 hour in duration.
SG Training can tailor onsite CPR training for your organisation at a time to suit your needs.
CPR Training Online
As mentioned above, you can do part of your CPR certification online via a self-paced, flexible training program. Our Online CPR Course allows you to save time and keep your CPR training cost down by completing the online content and learning before attending a short practical workshop with our trainer.
Resuscitation Refresher Course
Candidates requiring a CPR renewal or update to their existing qualification complete the same learning and assessment program to fulfil the requirements of the competency HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
CPR Training Assessment
All participants are required to successfully demonstrate resuscitation techniques, as well as other practical assessments tailored to the workplace or training requirements. Assessment will require candidates to kneel on the floor to provide CPR to a training manikin.
Pre-requisites
There is no prior learning required for the full course. CPR refresher courses require a current Resuscitation certificate.
We recommend that candidates are 12 in the year when they complete the course, however please call us to discuss how we can tailor a course suited to the needs of your school or group.
Candidates need to be able to complete physical assessments and may be required to perform CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.

We can tailor a course to meet your particular needs such as infant CPR or to suit the needs of your workplace with relevant scenarios or units as required. While we don’t offer an advanced resuscitation course, we can look to include some aspects of advanced training from our Lifeguard course such as Administer Oxygen in an Emergency Situation (PUAEM003). Provide First Aid.
This course includes HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and covers first aid and emergency response procedures.
