HLTAID011 –

Royal Life Saving NSW (RTO90666)

Our most popular course and the standard or mandatory requirement for many industries is HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation which allows workers and community members to provide a first aid response in a range of situations.

This course covers everything from basic first aid skills for minor injuries to emergency first aid procedures used in life threatening situations.

Course Information

Provide First Aid – HLTAID011

CPR and First Aid Certification

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a Royal Life Saving Statement of Attainment with the unit of competency HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

The Provide First Aid training certificate is valid for 3 years and the Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation unit is valid for 12 months in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Guidelines. 

Delivery Modes and Duration

The Provide First Aid Course is available as a blended learning program with a combination of online learning and face-to-face training/ practical assessment sessions delivered by an accredited Royal Life Saving Trainer.

The practical assessment session is approximately 4 hours in duration.

SG Training can deliver this training for your organisation on site and at a time to suit your needs.

First Aid Online

As mentioned above, you can do part of your fist aid certification online via a self-paced, flexible training program.

Our Accredited Online First Aid Course allows you to save time and keep your first aid course cost down by completing the online content and learning before attending a short practical workshop with our trainer.

First Aid Refresher Course

Candidates requiring a first aid renewal or update to their existing qualification complete the same learning and assessment program to fulfill the requirements of the competency HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.

First Aid Training Assessment

All candidates are required to successfully complete a range of practical assessments, contextualised to the workplace and a multiple-choice theory exam. 

The course requires practical application of resuscitation and a range of first aid practical scenarios that will require kneeling on the floor. Candidates need to successfully complete the practical components under the award conditions in order to achieve a Statement of Attainment.

Pre-requisites

No prior learning is needed for the full course. First Aid refresher courses require a current First Aid certificate.

We recommended that candidates are 14 in the year they attempt the course, however we can tailor courses to your needs so please call us to discuss.

Candidates need to be able to pass a practical application of resuscitation that includes performing CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin on the floor.

Certification Pathways

Units may go towards the SISSS00129 Pool Lifeguard Skill Set.
